The move strengthens trade routes and supports cleaner transport options for Swedish exporters.

SWEDEN – DP World will open new freight forwarding offices in Stockholm and Gothenburg in February 2026 as it grows its presence in Northern Europe.
The company says the step will help Swedish businesses reach customers across the Middle East, Africa, Asia Pacific, and Latin America while cutting road emissions.
The group expects the new offices to support smoother movement of goods and offer Swedish exporters a wider connection to its global network. DP World also plans to run up to 25 percent of its shipments through rail and sea in the first year. The firm says this choice will lower road emissions and remove paper documents from the process.
The two offices will use the Cargoes digital platform to speed up electronic data sharing and help Swedish clients get faster customs clearance. DP World says the platform makes the freight process easier for exporters who want a clear and simple system.
Stephen Whittingham, the group’s executive vice president for North Europe, said the Sweden move fits into DP World’s long term plan to grow its logistics services across the region. He said the company sees strong promise in the country. “Our new operation in Sweden will connect businesses across the country with our global network, create new jobs, and continue DP World’s investment in sustainable, technology-driven logistics.”
Whittingham added that the group looks forward to working closely with Swedish businesses. “This is the next step in developing and expanding the service DP World offers to customers in Sweden and across the region. Sweden’s culture of innovation, collaboration and sustainability makes it a natural partner for DP World’s next chapter in the Nordics, and we are looking forward to becoming a trusted partner to Swedish industry leaders across the automotive, technology, manufacturing, and retail sectors.”
New demand from Swedish exporters
Bojan Knightly, country manager for Sweden, said the offices aim to give regional exporters a simple and fast way to move goods. “By establishing DP World in Stockholm and Gothenburg, we’re aiming to give regional customers a simpler, faster and more transparent way to move goods around the world and connect to the global market. We are very excited with this announcement and look forward to further growth in Sweden and the wider region as we continue to scale up our operations in the Nordics.”
The company says partners in Sweden have supported the expansion, including Business Sweden and the Swedish Trade and Invest Council. Foodtankers, a DP World-owned company, also backed the move as it marks its 70th year in the transport industry.
DP World has recently stepped up activity across Europe. The company confirmed new investments in supply chain upgrades and said it sees steady demand from exporters who want smooth transport links into Asia, Africa, and the Middle East.
This includes added support for temperature-sensitive cargo and stronger links between freight hubs in Northern and Southern Europe.
The group says these steps will help it serve more customers while keeping transport times low. DP World expects the Sweden expansion to form a key part of its European strategy as it prepares for rising trade demand in 2026.
