Fruitnet reveals a wide programme that looks at fast shifts in India’s fresh produce market.

INDIA – Fruitnet has released the full agenda for Fresh Produce India 2026, which returns to Mumbai on 16 and 17 April.
The event will take place at the Trident Hotel in Nariman Point and will bring together growers, buyers and service providers who want to understand new trends shaping India’s fruit and vegetable sector.
The programme starts with a discussion on India’s new consumer habits. Speakers plan to explain how shoppers now choose fruit with more interest in health, flavour and convenience. They will also share views on which fruits attract strong demand and how brands can place their products in front of the right customers.
One panellist says the session will give clear guidance. “We want people to understand how consumers think today, so they can plan their business with real insight,” the speaker notes. Another expert adds that the market now moves fast and that the industry must stay alert to small shifts. “India’s fruit buyers want more choice and better quality. The industry must respond with fresh ideas and good supply,” he says.
Spotlight on South India and new production methods
This year’s agenda includes a close look at South India, a region that continues to record sharp growth in urban demand. The session will show how producers from this region work with traders, modern retailers and online sellers.
The programme will also introduce new methods that improve domestic production. Speakers plan to describe varieties that growers now test across India, as well as technology that supports better yields and steady supply. These discussions will help visitors understand how farms prepare for rising demand in both local and export markets.
A separate session will focus on food safety. Specialists will explain new rules that shape how companies grow, pack and sell produce. One speaker states, “Retailers want clear proof of good practice. Our goal is to show what suppliers must do to meet these standards.”
Awards and networking remain key parts of the event
Fresh Produce India will also host the Fresh Produce India Awards. The awards honour companies and teams that show strong progress in business, marketing and community impact. Fruitnet will announce the winners before the Networking Lunch.
The event will again combine a busy content programme with a large networking expo. This setup allows visitors to learn from experts while they meet traders, importers, exporters and other industry leaders.
Fruitnet expects strong attendance in 2026 as more companies look for ways to grow in India’s fresh fruit and vegetable market. “People see India as a place where they can build real partnerships,” an organiser says. “Fresh Produce India gives them a chance to connect and gain useful knowledge in one place.”
