Loveland Products has released a new water efficiency product as growers face tighter limits on irrigation water across key farming regions.

USA – Loveland Products introduced AQUA FORCE on 8 January 2026, adding a new option for farmers who rely on center pivot irrigation systems and want better control of soil moisture.
The company says AQUA FORCE supports better movement of water through soil while helping crops keep moisture in the root zone. Loveland Products presents the product as a different option from standard soil surfactants or wetting agents, with a focus on how water behaves below the soil surface during pivot passes.
Water availability continues to shape decisions across major crop regions, especially in potato, corn, and vegetable production areas that depend on groundwater. Declining reserves such as the Ogallala Aquifer have raised concerns about how long current irrigation practices can continue.
“Farmers are under more pressure than ever to do more with less water,” said Drew Butler, Adjuvants Portfolio Manager at Loveland Products. “The Ogallala Aquifer alone can lose up to one to two feet of water each year, and that’s not sustainable. But AQUA FORCE helps farmers get the most out of every drop by improving how water interacts with the soil.”
How the product works in the field
Loveland Products says AQUA FORCE addresses uneven water movement, moisture loss beyond the root zone, and soil compaction linked to pivot irrigation. The company links these factors to crop performance and longer term soil condition.
Rather than acting only at the soil surface, the formulation aims to help soil hold moisture where crops can use it during irrigation cycles. Loveland Products says this approach may reduce the need for mid season adjustments and support steadier water use.
Third party trials carried out in 2024 by the Irrigation Research Foundation in Yuma, Colorado tested the product on pivot irrigated corn. Loveland Products reports an average yield increase of nine bushels per acre across all zones in the trial.
At a separate site in Oklahoma, the company says AQUA FORCE helped keep higher moisture levels in the top 0 to 6 inches of soil throughout the season. According to Loveland Products, this reduced water loss through evaporation and runoff, an issue that matters in areas tied to shrinking groundwater supplies.
Fit within wider water management plans
“AQUA FORCE fills a gap in the market,” said Dr. Darin Lickfeldt, Senior Manager of Technical Development at Loveland Products. “It’s not just about getting water to the field; it’s about keeping it where it matters most. When irrigation water is applied, AQUA FORCE helps ensure it works harder, lasts longer, and supports better yield outcomes.”
Loveland Products places AQUA FORCE within a wider effort to support water management practices that respond to cost, environmental, and regulatory pressure. While current data focuses on corn, the company says the product suits other pivot irrigated crops that depend on even moisture and stable root zone conditions.
The company says farmers can access AQUA FORCE through local crop consultants at Nutrien Ag Solutions, reflecting growing interest in tools that support water efficiency across irrigated farming systems.
