New Holland expands in Tanzania through CMC Agri partnership

The appointment of CMC Agri Limited as official distributor strengthens New Holland’s presence in Tanzania and signals fresh support for the country’s farmers.

TANZANIA – New Holland Agriculture has named CMC Agri Limited as its official distributor in Tanzania, reinforcing its long-standing commitment to farmers in the country.

The partnership will make a wider range of equipment available while improving after-sales service and technical support.

CMC Agri Limited, part of the CMC Group, is a family-run Tanzanian company with more than four decades of experience in automotive distribution.

Its new role as distributor will see it supply New Holland’s full product line, including tractors and combine harvesters suited for different farm sizes and conditions.

Agriculture remains a cornerstone of Tanzania’s economy, contributing around a quarter of total value addition and employing the largest share of the workforce.

With the economy expected to grow in 2025, mechanization is seen as vital to raising yields and boosting incomes for small and large-scale farmers alike.

Özkan Eren, Middle East and Africa Business Director at New Holland, said the company views this step as a continuation of its long history in the country.

“We are very excited about this collaboration in Tanzania. Our long-standing commitment to agriculture in Tanzania continues and we want to maintain New Holland as the number one brand in the country. With this new partnership our ties to Tanzania become even stronger. We look forward to supporting CMC, our new partner, in their growth, confident they will offer the best products and service to our customers in the territory.”

CMC Agri has pledged to invest in training, facilities, and service capacity to ensure farmers benefit fully from the partnership. Antony Haji, Managing Director of CMC Commercial Ltd., emphasized the alignment of values between the two companies.

“New Holland’s globally recognized reputation for innovation, reliability, and performance perfectly aligns with our own mission to empower Tanzanian farmers with the tools they need to achieve unprecedented productivity and sustainable growth. We are investing significantly in training our teams, upgrading our facilities, and expanding our service network to ensure that every New Holland owner in Tanzania receives the premium experience they deserve.”

Commitment to growth across Africa

The development comes as parent company CNH Industrial released its second-quarter 2025 results. The firm reported consolidated revenues of US$4.7 billion, a 14 percent decline compared to the same quarter last year, reflecting weaker industry demand.

Net income stood at US$217 million, down from US$404 million in 2024. Despite these results, CNH reaffirmed its full-year guidance, citing resilience in cost management and steady cash flow. Chief Executive Officer Gerrit Marx noted: “While we continued to face challenging market conditions this quarter, the CNH team’s resilience and dedication allowed us to navigate through them effectively and in line with our targets.”

Meanwhile, Case IH, another CNH brand, introduced new and upgraded tractors and balers this week, broadening its support for both livestock and cash crop operations.

Highlights include the return of the Farmall M series, upgrades across the Farmall A and C ranges, and the launch of the RB6 series round baler. These products integrate modern features like telematics and advanced transmission systems to improve operator comfort, efficiency, and durability.

Together, these moves highlight CNH Industrial’s strategy of strengthening its footprint across Africa while continuing to introduce products designed for varied farming needs worldwide.
