The new plant will produce up to 60,000 metric tonnes a year to serve global agriculture markets.

UAE – Amarak Chemicals FZC, a UAE based chemical manufacturer and an associate of the Aries Group of Companies, has started operations at a fully automated sulphur manufacturing facility at Jebel Ali Free Zone in Dubai, boosting the supply of sulphur based farm inputs to global markets.
The company, an associate of the Aries Group of Companies, said the plant will produce up to 60,000 metric tonnes a year of sulphur bentonite and other sulphur allied products. The facility uses digital process controls to improve output, accuracy and worker safety.
B G Krishnan, Consul Economic, Trade and Commerce at the Consulate General of India in Dubai, inaugurated the facility. Saoud AlAwadhi, Director Sales at Jafza, attended the event alongside the board of Aries Group. Customers from seven countries also took part and shared plans to sign long term supply deals with Amarak.
Abdulla Al Hashmi, COO of Parks and Zones at DP World GCC, said the new unit adds strength to the chemicals and agribusiness base at Jafza. “Jafza continues to strengthen its position as a leading hub for chemicals and agribusiness. The new sulphur manufacturing facility by Amarak Chemicals is a valuable addition to our growing chemicals sector,” he said.
He added that the facility will improve access to key farm inputs and support farmers across the region. “By improving access to essential agricultural inputs, this facility will help support farmers and strengthen food supply chains,” Al Hashmi said.
Amarak exports to more than 18 countries across South America and Asia Pacific, including Brazil, Australia and New Zealand. The company said the Jafza plant will help it meet rising demand through strong supply links.
Focus on global expansion
Dr Rahul Mirchandani, Group Chairman of Aries Group of Companies, said the investment shows the group’s long term focus on agricultural inputs. “Our investment in Jafza reflects the Aries Group’s long term commitment to building world class manufacturing capabilities in agricultural inputs and to becoming the preferred global supplier for quality and consistent fertilizers,” he said.
He also noted the role of the India UAE Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement. The trade deal allows Amarak to produce in the UAE and export duty free to India, while serving other markets from one hub.
“Jafza significantly reduces our logistics costs, improves speed to market and enhances access to key geographies,” Dr Mirchandani said.
Amarak has signed long term partnerships with major sulphur suppliers in the UAE to secure steady raw material supply. The project reflects closer industrial ties between India and the UAE, combining Indian process expertise with the UAE’s strong infrastructure and logistics network.
