Asia-Pacific Agri-Food Innovation Summit 2025 to tackle food security and investment priorities

Over 1,000 industry leaders will gather in Singapore this November to address pressing agri-food challenges across the Asia-Pacific region.

ASIA – The Asia-Pacific Agri-Food Innovation Summit 2025 will take place from November 4 to 6 at Marina Bay Sands, Singapore, bringing together senior executives, policymakers, and innovators to focus on resilience, food security, and investment in the region’s agricultural sector.

Organised as part of Singapore International Agri-Food Week, the summit enjoys the backing of Temasek and the Singapore Food Agency.

It will feature keynote addresses from Grace Fu, Singapore’s Minister for Sustainability and the Environment, and Anuj Maheshwari, Head of Agri-Food at Temasek.

Leaders from Japan’s Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries, China Agricultural University, the World Bank Group, Coca-Cola, ADM, Bayer Crop Science, Danone, Thai Wah, and BASF will also take the stage.

The 2025 agenda will cover 12 themes, including regenerative and precision farming, agri-fintech solutions for smallholders, reformulating foods for gut health, and advances in AI-powered peptide discovery and precision fermentation. Delegates will also examine supply chain innovations for palm oil, rice, fresh produce, and specialty crops.

Organisers say the sessions will link sustainability with market efficiency while tackling issues such as shifting trade flows, climate-aligned economic strategies, and the evolving investment landscape in agri-tech.

“We are seeing more demand for solutions that connect science, policy, and finance,” said Maheshwari. “This summit will help build those connections across the region.”

Interactive sessions will include breakout discussions, live tastings, regional showcases, and AI-driven business matching to support direct engagement between stakeholders.

Lessons from 2024

The 2024 edition focused on climate adaptation, decarbonisation, and building resilient nutrition systems. According to Chakawal Center and The Good Food Institute, it featured discussions on alternative proteins, aquafeed innovation, and sustainable farming, alongside roundtables led by experts from Shell, Bühler Group, and The Nature Conservancy.

Over 1,000 international participants attended in 2024, creating partnerships and striking deals that shaped the expanded agenda for 2025. “We wanted to keep the momentum going,” said an organiser. “This year’s programme reflects the needs of a changing market and the opportunities to address them together.”

African businesses, especially in fresh produce, biotechnology, and agricultural finance, could benefit from the Singapore summit by seeking partnerships, attracting investors, and exploring market-tested solutions.

Industry experts note that the event’s focus on scalable innovation makes it relevant to emerging markets.

With global supply chains under strain and food systems facing climate risks, the Asia-Pacific Agri-Food Innovation Summit 2025 will serve as a meeting point for leaders shaping the future of farming and food in the region and beyond.
