Nearly 50 000 visitors attend South Africa’s leading agricultural show in Bredasdorp

SOUTH AFRICA – NAMPO Cape 2025 drew record numbers this September, with close to 50 000 people filling Bredasdorp Park for what has become the Western Cape’s most important farming event.
Exhibitors used the platform to connect with farmers, while BMG stood out with its 360 degree solutions theme, live demonstrations and a wide showcase of agricultural products.
The show, launched in 2018, has grown into a key date on the farming calendar. BMG, a long-time exhibitor, says its participation continues to strengthen its connection with producers.
“This prestigious agricultural event has become a milestone for the farming community in the region and BMG is proud to participate,” said Carlo Beukes, Business Development Manager, Agricultural division, BMG.
“Our focus is on giving farmers practical access to advanced technologies that improve productivity, conserve resources and minimise downtime. Feedback from visitors to our stand has been outstanding. We are proud to be part of every farmer’s process, from start to finish.”
Visitors explored BMG’s extensive product line, from hydraulic components and lubricants to electric motors, conveyor belts and tools. Competitions and interactive sessions kept the stand active, while farmers gained hands-on experience with the equipment.
Spotlight on vehicle aftermarket and firearm care
One of the highlights came from BMG’s focus on SKF Vehicle Aftermarket components. Designed with Southern Africa’s “bakkie country” in mind, the offering featured complete wheel bearing units for popular models such as Hilux, Fortuner, Land Cruiser and Ford Ranger. Heavy-duty truck components were also on display.
This specialised portfolio, with over 20 000 variations, supports BMG’s automotive brands Snap-On, Gates, Rexon and Liqui Moly. Beukes explained that the SKF Vehicle Aftermarket line targets passenger vehicles, commercial fleets and workshop applications, and will not overlap with the industrial bearings range.
BMG also presented Liqui Moly Guntec firearm care products, expanding its lubrication and cleaning solutions. The silencer cleaner, unique to Liqui Moly, dissolves combustion residues without damaging delicate parts.
“This cleaner efficiently removes fouling without damaging delicate components, enabling users to maintain silencers in safe operating condition, while reducing cleaning time and extending the service life of their firearm,” the company noted. Farmers and hunters welcomed the promotional kits that combine cleaners, lubricants and accessories for complete firearm maintenance.
Smart farming and digital services
Beyond equipment, BMG highlighted products that promote efficiency and lower costs. Gates harvester belts, engineered for tough conditions, and Danfoss VLT Aqua drives, which improve energy use in irrigation, formed part of the BoerSlim/Smart Farming initiative.
According to BMG, the initiative supports farmers in reducing input costs while contributing to sustainable food production.
Farmers are also turning to BMG’s online shopping platform, which has grown in popularity. The digital service, supported by the company’s broad branch network, makes it easier for producers to order components and access technical backup.
BMG’s agricultural team continues to work closely with farmers countrywide to guide them on equipment selection, installation and care. The company says this approach improves machine performance, strengthens reliability and lengthens service intervals.
