The mower drew strong attention in Hannover for its wide reach, compact design and sustainability links across KUHN’s product line.

FRANCE – KUHN’s GMD 15030 secured the FARM MACHINE 2026 title at AGRITECHNICA 2025 in Hannover.
The mower reaches a working width of 14.50 metres, which gives users close to 50 percent more output than common triple mower setups that range between 9 and 10 metres.
When paired with a 3.10 metre front mower, the machine reaches up to 20 hectares per hour at 15 kph. KUHN highlighted this as a strong fit for farms and contractors who want higher productivity and better returns.
The GMD 15030 gained attention because it brings both reach and compactness. A KUHN representative at the stand said “the GMD 15030 lets users cover more ground without adding stress while moving from one field to another.”
The unit folds at almost 180 degrees, which brings its road size down to under 3 metres in width and under 3.8 metres in height. Drivers said this setup gave them a sense of comfort and safety in transport.
The mower suits controlled traffic farming on a 14 metre track. This practice keeps heavy machines on the same paths and helps farms reduce soil impact while raising fodder output. KUHN teams at the event said this approach fits well with current field conditions in many regions.
The disc mower carries the OPTIDISC ELITE cutter bar known for its strong cut and steady handling in varied conditions. KUHN teams explained that the cutter bar needs no oil changes, which saves time and reduces service costs. A KUHN engineer said “we want users to spend less time on upkeep and more time in the field.”
The mower includes the PROTECTADRIVE safety setup to shield the unit from sudden bumps. Four aligned bars sit on the mower to help it follow the ground with accuracy, since each side cutter bar moves on its own joint.
KUHN also adapted the LIFT-CONTROL suspension and the NON STOP break-away setup so the mower can pivot away from obstacles in the centre or on the outside.
Bale wrapping sustainability
In a separate update, KUHN announced new gains in bale wrapping sustainability. The company highlighted KUHN WRAP Sustane film, which cuts environmental impact by 24 percent compared to standard film.
The 1800 metre roll gives users more bales per roll and lowers plastic use, transport needs and handling time. The film works with both round and square bales and comes in a fully recyclable sleeve.
A KUHN spokesperson said “KUHN WRAP Sustane gives farmers a direct way to lower their impact while keeping forage safe during storage.” The film holds 25 percent post-consumer recycled content, which supports growing interest in cleaner inputs across farming regions.
KUHN said farms see the strongest gains when they use KUHN WRAP Sustane together with KUHN wrapping technologies. This mix can cut the footprint by up to 40 percent. KUHN staff at AGRITECHNICA said “our goal is to support real field needs while lowering the pressure on the environment.”
