Hydrachem to showcase advanced hygiene solutions at WHX Cape Town

The UK-based company will highlight its latest disinfection and water purification products at the September expo.

SOUTH AFRICA – Hydrachem will headline the WHX Cape Town expo this September with its latest disinfection technologies, positioning its Biospot™ and Cert™ ranges as central to infection control across multiple industries.

The event runs from September 2 to 4 at the Cape Town International Convention Centre.

At the exhibition, Hydrachem will demonstrate Biospot™, a professional-grade disinfectant designed to eliminate harmful microorganisms quickly without compromising safety.

Alongside it, Cert™ will be showcased as a targeted solution for spot-cleaning and high-contamination areas. A recent upgrade, Cert™ Bleach Tablets, now allows users to generate chlorine on demand for more convenient use.

Nicolas Barbieri, Chief Commercial Officer at Hydrachem, stressed the company’s focus on reliability. “We’ve built our reputation on reliability and results. From hospitals to hotels, our disinfectants give organisations the tools they need to protect people, prevent outbreaks and maintain the highest standards of hygiene,” he said.

Hydrachem has developed its solutions for use across agriculture, healthcare, hospitality, manufacturing, and public environments, offering a cost-effective approach to infection prevention and hygiene management.

The company will also spotlight its OASIS water purification tablets, widely used in humanitarian aid, remote communities, and emergency response programs.

The tablets, compliant with World Health Organization standards, provide safe drinking water within minutes and remain a lifeline in crisis situations.

Visitors to WHX will get the chance to meet Hydrachem’s team and see live demonstrations of Cert™ and Biospot™ against high-risk pathogens.

These sessions will highlight how the products can improve compliance and safety while also supporting large-scale supply programs for governments, NGOs, and businesses.

A rebranded expo

This year marks a rebranded identity for the event. Previously known as the Africa Health Exhibition, it was last held in October 2024 at the same venue, featuring accredited conferences, diagnostics forums, and a Transformation Zone that focused on healthcare and laboratory innovations.

The 2025 rebranding to WHX Cape Town and WHX Labs Cape Town signals a stronger positioning of Cape Town as Africa’s healthcare innovation hub.

Organizers expect an expanded program that not only draws international exhibitors like Hydrachem but also strengthens regional partnerships in hygiene, healthcare, and life sciences.

Hydrachem’s participation highlights how disinfection and water safety remain at the heart of public health, with solutions designed to serve both everyday industry needs and emergency humanitarian contexts.
