IFTF 2025 kicks off in the Netherlands, drawing global floriculture experts

The International Floriculture Trade Fair returns to Vijfhuizen this November with over 300 exhibitors expected to attend.

NETHERLANDS – The international floriculture community is preparing to gather in Vijfhuizen, the Netherlands, for the 2025 edition of the International Floriculture Trade Fair (IFTF).

The event will run from November 4 to 6 at Expo Greater Amsterdam, hosting nearly 300 exhibitors who will showcase their latest flower varieties, techniques, and services.

IFTF has grown into one of the most significant global events for professionals in floriculture. Organizers expect visitors from more than 100 countries to attend, making it a vital meeting place for growers, exporters, breeders, suppliers, and buyers. Last year’s edition attracted over 25,000 people, highlighting the fair’s continued importance in driving trade connections across the floral supply chain.

“This fair brings together everyone involved in flowers, from production to retail,” said an IFTF spokesperson. “It’s not only a place to showcase new varieties but also an opportunity to build partnerships and learn from each other.”

The 2025 fair will once again offer business networking sessions, product demonstrations, and discussions on sustainable production methods. Exhibitors will display a wide range of flowers and plants, including roses, tropical species, and seasonal varieties that continue to shape consumer trends worldwide.

Many exhibitors are expected to focus on eco-friendly growing solutions and new technologies that reduce water and energy use. These themes have gained growing attention as the industry adapts to environmental concerns and shifting consumer expectations.

“Sustainability is no longer a side topic. It’s now at the center of how we operate,” noted a Dutch grower preparing to showcase his products at the fair. “Customers want to know that their flowers come from responsible sources.”

A broader look at industry developments

Beyond IFTF, the global floriculture trade continues to evolve. Industry reports indicate a steady rise in demand for certified sustainable flowers, with European and Middle Eastern markets driving much of this growth. Exporters in Kenya, Ethiopia, and Colombia are also expanding their reach, supported by improved logistics and quality standards.

The IFTF 2025 will provide a platform to discuss these shifts and explore new business opportunities. For many participants, it serves as both a showcase and a learning ground.

“Every year, we see more collaboration and creative ideas emerging from this event,” said another exhibitor. “That’s what keeps the industry fresh and forward-looking.”

The fair will open daily from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. on November 4 and 5, and from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on November 6.
