The 325G arrives with features built for Africa’s toughest conditions and job sites.

SOUTH AFRICA – John Deere Africa Middle East has rolled out its first tracked skid steer on the continent, the 325G.
This compact but powerful machine, whose official rollout began late June 2025, is designed to handle tough job sites while offering stability, high pushing power, and better traction on soft or uneven surfaces.
Built with rubber tracks and advanced hydraulics, the 325G is already in use around the world in construction, farming, landscaping, and municipal projects. With this launch, John Deere says the machine is ready to take on the same role across Africa’s diverse industries.
“Bringing the 325G to Africa is a strategic step,” says Griffiths Makgate, C&F Sales Manager Africa and Middle East. “From municipal zones to mines operating in harsh conditions and farms in rural regions, this machine is a versatile solution ready to work wherever our customers do.”
The 325G features a 71-horsepower engine, compact frame, and low ground pressure. It can move through wet, sandy, or muddy ground without damaging the surface, making it suitable for a wide range of job sites, including high-traffic or narrow areas.
Workhorse with add-ons
What sets the 325G apart is how much more it can do when paired with different attachments. John Deere offers more than 100 attachments that can be fitted to the machine, turning it into a multi-purpose tool.
“Increased auxiliary hydraulic flows and power over previous models enable greater performance while running attachments,” says the company. “Optional high-flow hydraulics lets operators add things like rotary cutters or brooms.”
Another key feature is the electrically actuated Quik-Tatch™. It allows some attachments to connect from inside the cab, cutting down on manual effort.
The Joystick Performance Package also includes creep control, which lets operators carry out precise tasks at slower speeds without giving up hydraulic power.
Remote control system offers safety benefits
The 325G also comes with an optional Remote Control System. This feature lets operators run the machine from a distance, improving safety in areas with risks like unstable ground, waste facilities, or demolition sites.
“Enhanced operator safety by removing personnel from danger zones,” the company notes. “Greater precision in blind spots or tight working conditions” and “ease of training and assistance in field operations” are among the benefits of this system.
Dealer support and connectivity
John Deere has made sure buyers of the 325G won’t be left without help. The machine is backed by a growing dealer network across Africa, which provides spare parts, service, and ongoing support. The unit also comes fitted with JDLink™ telematics. This system gives real-time access to machine performance, diagnostics, and fleet tracking, free of charge.
This launch follows another recent update from John Deere. Earlier in June 2025, the company announced the introduction of its next-generation 6B tractor series in Kenya, aimed at medium-scale farmers looking for dependable power and fuel efficiency.
With both announcements, John Deere continues to strengthen its presence and offering across African markets.
