Kronen optimizes GS20 cutting machine for enhanced hygiene and efficiency

GERMANY – Kronen GmbH has made significant improvements to its GS20 belt-cutting machine, ensuring better hygiene, increased operational safety, and lower costs for clients in the food processing industry.

Kronen’s GS20 belt-cutting machine, known for its ability to process up to 4,000 kg per hour, is a versatile tool used for cutting fruits, vegetables, salad greens, and various other food products.

The machine has undergone several upgrades aimed at improving its efficiency and reducing maintenance costs.

Key components such as the down-holder belt and roller bearing support holder for the transport belt have been redesigned. Instead of needing to replace the entire blocks, clients can now replace only the bearing axle support bars.

This change is not only cost-effective but also maintains backward compatibility, allowing older GS20 models to benefit from these improvements.

“The updates to the GS20 ensure that our clients can continue to rely on the machine’s high-quality performance while reducing their long-term costs,” said Eric Lefebvre, Managing Director and Technical Director at Kronen.

Kronen has also made changes to enhance the machine’s hygienic design. The product discharge has been upgraded, the blade flange modified, and the number of screw fastenings for the belt and knife box reduced.

These modifications make the machine easier to clean and maintain, which is crucial for meeting stringent hygiene standards in the food processing industry.

Additionally, the GS20’s swivel arm, an optional device that simplifies the replacement of cutting disks, has been improved. It now requires fewer screw fasteners and avoids hollow areas, making it easier and safer to use.

A new carriage anchoring feature has been added to prevent accidental nudging of the swivel arm during relocation, further increasing operational safety.

The GS20 continues to offer superior processing quality and high performance. It is capable of cutting, pulling, shredding, and grating a wide range of materials, making it an essential tool for the industrial food processing sector worldwide.

For over 40 years, Kronen has been committed to innovation and excellence. “We always keep learning, developing, and making progress rather than simply settling for what we have already achieved,” Lefebvre stated.

“Our contact with the industry, research groups, and experts like the EHEDG has helped us gain new insights and implement this knowledge in our development activities.”
