Mission Produce names Douglas Stone to Board of Directors

Stone to join Compensation Committee as company expands its leadership team

USA – Mission Produce, a leading global grower and distributor of fresh fruit and vegetables, has appointed Douglas M. Stone to its Board of Directors, effective November 26, 2025.

Stone will also serve on the company’s Compensation Committee.

Douglas brings a wealth of experience in agribusiness and supply chain leadership,” said Steve Barnard, CEO of Mission Produce. “His proven ability to drive operational efficiency and strategic sourcing will be invaluable as the company continues to strengthen its global network and deliver value to customers and shareholders.

Stone joins Mission as an independent Class I director with a term set to expire at the company’s 2027 Annual Meeting of Stockholders. The board expanded from 10 to 11 directors to accommodate his appointment.

Stone brings decades of leadership experience in agribusiness. From 2018 to 2024, he served as President of AgriBusiness at J.R. Simplot Company, where he oversaw strategic growth and operational performance across international markets.

Earlier, he held key leadership positions, including Vice President of Wholesale Sales at J.R. Simplot Company from 2016 to 2018, President and CEO of Consolidated Sourcing Solutions from 2010 to 2016, and Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing at Terra Industries Inc. from 2007 to 2010.

Stone holds an MBA from the University of South Dakota and a Bachelor of Business Administration in Marketing from the University of Iowa. His strong background in leadership and strategic sourcing is expected to guide Mission as it advances global initiatives and explores opportunities for growth.

Mission Produce recently announced plans to expand its operations in North America and invest in new cold chain infrastructure to improve distribution efficiency. The company continues to explore innovative solutions to maintain product quality and meet growing demand.

Stone’s appointment comes as Mission strengthens its governance and positions itself for sustained growth. The company also recently reported strong quarterly results, with revenues exceeding US$1.2 billion, reflecting its ongoing commitment to supply chain excellence and market responsiveness.
