Stimera appoints Lon Kreger as CEO to guide global market expansion

The crop science firm names a new chief executive as it prepares to widen market reach for its molecular fertilizer platform.

USA – Stimera, a crop science company based in Tahoe Vista, California, has named Lon E. Kreger as its new Chief Executive Officer.

The leadership change comes as the company moves from early product testing toward wider commercial sales of its crop nutrition products.

Kreger will lead the company’s global business strategy, while founder and president Reuben Rampersad will continue to guide product research and development.

Kreger joins the company as Stimera increases its commercial activities and builds partnerships across agricultural supply channels. The firm plans to work closely with agricultural retailers, distributors, and manufacturing partners to bring its products to growers in several markets.

“At Stimera, we are focused on delivering products that drive measurable results,” Kreger said. “Growers need solutions that are effective, reliable, and economically sound. By helping growers maximize yield and efficiency, we strengthen the entire supply chain and support the production of high quality food.”

Kreger said the company built its technology to help farmers improve crop timing, yield, and returns on fertilizer use.

“Stimera technology was built to solve real problems, helping growers achieve more predictable yields, better crop timing, and stronger returns from their fertility spend,” he said. “Stimera has the kind of foundation that investors and commercial partners look for in a differentiated product with strong early season performance and a model that can scale through established channels.”

Technology focus

Stimera develops molecular foliar fertilizers designed to help nutrients move through plant leaves faster. Its main product, Nitro-Gro, changes the structure of nutrient inputs so plants absorb them quickly and move them through their tissues more efficiently.

Company materials state that the platform may support yield increases of about 30 percent, shorten crop cycles by up to two weeks, and deliver up to five times the return on investment within the same season.

Rampersad, who holds a PhD in plant physiology from the University of KwaZulu Natal, created the technology and continues to lead the company’s research work.

“Stimera was built on the belief that crop nutrition can do more than correct deficiencies. It can improve how the plant performs,” Rampersad said. “We have worked hard to develop products that help nutrients move faster, work harder, and deliver meaningful economic value to growers. Bringing Lon in as CEO gives us the commercial and operational leadership to scale that vision.”

Next steps

Stimera reports that it currently has about 20 products under development, with roughly 30 percent close to commercial release.

The company will also present its molecular fertilizer technology at the World Agri Tech Innovation Summit in San Francisco, California, on March 17 and 18, 2026, where it will meet partners and growers interested in the platform.
