Early bird rates and abstract submissions now open for the October 2026 global potato meeting in Naivasha.

KENYA – The organizers of the 13th World Potato Congress have opened early registration and abstract submissions for the October 2026 event in Kenya.
The congress will take place at Sawela Lodges in Naivasha and will bring together growers, traders, researchers, processors and input suppliers from across the global potato sector. Organizers say the event will give delegates a space to share research findings, market trends and production updates while meeting peers from other regions.
In a notice on its official site, the Congress team said, “We are excited to welcome you to the stunning host venue, Sawela Lodges, located in Naivasha, Kenya.” The team added that the program committee is preparing sessions that will cover production, trade, research and industry issues.
Early registration and program plans
Registration is now open, with early bird rates available until 1 July 2026. Organizers urge delegates to register early to secure discounted fees and confirm participation. The program will include workshops, presentations by industry leaders and panel discussions that focus on current issues in the potato sector.
The Congress stated, “The World Potato Congress offers a unique opportunity to delegates from all sectors in the industry to exchange ideas and insights on the latest advances and challenges the industry is facing.”
Delegates can review program updates on the official congress website. The event will also host a field day at FreshCrop Ltd. during its annual field event in Kenya, which will serve as the official Congress Field Day location.
Abstracts, travel and official partners
Organizers have also opened abstract submissions for both oral and poster presentations. They invite established researchers and early career professionals to submit new findings and industry insights. The Congress team said, “This is your opportunity to present new findings, share industry insights, and enhance your international visibility.”
To manage accommodation, the Congress has appointed AFAMCO as the official accommodation partner. Organizers advise delegates to book rooms only through AFAMCO to access negotiated rates and official transport links. They noted that Sawela Lodge will remain offline for booking until 31 January.
The Congress also confirmed that Keynote PCO serves as the official professional conference organizer. Organizers warned delegates to avoid unauthorized agencies and rely only on the official website for accurate information.
