The tire maker expands its product range to support smart farming systems and automated field work.

INDIA – Balkrishna Industries Ltd (BKT), a leading off highway tire manufacturer, has introduced several tire solutions that align with modern tractor systems that rely on smart software, sensors, and automated functions.
Agriculture remains a key focus for BKT as farm equipment becomes more complex. The company has invested in research and product design to ensure its tires work smoothly with precision farming tools and automated machinery.
Solutions such as AGRIMAX V FLECTO, RIDEMAX IT 696, and AGRIMAX FORCE support different farming tasks including slope tillage, fleet monitoring, and automated field operations.
Piero Torassa, Field Engineering Director at BKT Europe, said the sector continues to change as farmers adopt digital tools. “In the new agricultural landscape, we are witnessing the emergence of new and increasingly higher standards. Just think of the integration between sensors, high precision GPS, and smart software for machinery that can operate almost autonomously.”
“While on one hand, this is paving the way toward full automation, on the other hand, it is contributing to opening new frontiers for tire development and engineering, where casings are designed to ensure directional stability under all conditions and other technical elements contribute to greater technology.”
AGRIMAX V FLECTO supports tractors with advanced weight and pressure control systems. The tire allows farmers to carry up to 40 percent more load at the same inflation pressure. Farmers can also lower pressure while carrying the same load. This feature helps protect soil structure while improving traction and operator comfort.
Stability and durability remain key focus
RIDEMAX IT 696 focuses on stability during transport and heavy duty field work. Its structure limits sideways movement and keeps steady ground contact on uneven or sloped terrain. The tire also reduces rolling resistance which lowers fuel use and helps cut emissions.
AGRIMAX FORCE uses IF technology and reinforced materials to support equipment that handles changing load cycles. The design supports automated farm operations that rely on AI systems and camera based monitoring.
The tire sector continues to support farm equipment growth, as tires remain the main contact point between machines and soil.
Recent tractor developments also show how equipment makers respond to changing farm needs. Mahindra Tractors recently introduced its Limited Edition Yuvo Tech+ 585 DI 4WD models during India’s Republic Day celebrations. The tractors feature special colour designs and improved performance features for demanding farm tasks.
Parikshit Ghosh, VP and Head of Marketing and National Business Operations at Mahindra Tractors, said the launch reflects the company’s focus on farmers. “When purpose meets pride, it creates something truly pathbreaking, and on this Republic Day we are proud to unveil Limited Editions of our next generation Mahindra Yuvo Tech+ tractor.”
“One of India’s most popular next generation tractors, the Yuvo Tech+ 585 DI 4WD variant is crafted in the colours of the tricolour, earning a distinctive visual appeal that does not just enhances its character, but symbolises progress and our commitment to empower farmers as pillars of the country’s progress. These tractors will be available at select Mahindra Tractors dealerships across the country starting January 26.”
Industry players continue to align tire and tractor design as farms adopt smarter tools and heavier equipment.
