Mahindra launches new rotavator series for heavy duty farm work

The company says the new machines aim to improve soil work and give farmers stronger equipment for daily field use.

INDIA – Mahindra & Mahindra has launched a new rotavator series designed for heavy duty farm work, adding fresh design features and stronger parts to support farmers who depend on mechanised soil preparation.

The company announced the release on February 27, 2026. The new rotavators fall under the heavy duty category and will appear in two lines called Mahavator and Mahavator HD. The machines range from 4 to 9 feet in size and target farmers who need reliable equipment for frequent field work.

Company engineers shaped the new series after reviewing market data and farmer feedback. The design includes a wider mast structure that improves balance and strength during soil tilling. The company says this structure helps the machines handle rough farm land and repeated use.

Focus on durability and field performance

According to the company, the new rotavators bring stronger build quality and better stability during operation. Farmers often rely on rotavators to break soil and prepare land for planting, which makes durability a key factor in farm machinery.

Anusha Kothandaraman, Vice President and Head of International Operations and Business Head for Farm Machinery at Mahindra Farm Equipment Business, said the company built the machines with farm needs in mind.

“Farm mechanization plays an important role in improving farm productivity and rotavators help farmers prepare their fields quickly and efficiently,” she said. “Our newly designed rotavators aim to deliver strong performance while also giving farmers equipment they feel proud to own.”

Mahindra plans to distribute the machines through its dealer network in stages. The rollout will first cover the 4 to 9 feet models before wider availability across the network.

Limited edition colours and smart technology

To mark the launch, Mahindra also introduced a limited edition version of its rotavators. The company released these machines in three colours inspired by the Indian flag: Metallic Orange, Everest White and Metallic Green. The edition appears in Mahavator HD, Supervator and Gyrovator ZLX+ models.

The company also offers an Intelligent Rotavator under the brand name Tez-e. This machine uses Bluetooth technology to send farm data to a mobile application in real time, helping farmers track activity while working in the field.

Mahindra remains one of the largest rotavator manufacturers in India. The company builds its rotavators at production units in Nabha in Punjab and Zaheerabad in Telangana.

Founded in 1945, Mahindra operates in more than 100 countries and employs over 324,000 people across its businesses, which include farm equipment, vehicles, information technology and financial services.
